She was a category 5, hurricane that caused over 1,800 deaths and 125 billion in damage, New Orleans was the city hardest hit.
Affected areas were Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, and more.
August 29 2005 Katrina made landfall 60 miles southeast of New Orleans.
Winds of 125 mph and high water of 28 feet as Katrina hit Biloxi and Gulfport Mississippi.
But New Orleans was left with food waters of10 to 15 feet and did not recede for weeks. Hurricane Katrina is the costliest hurricane with 125 billion in total damages.
